SKY’S HEAVEN : Poem by Suha Fathima

Suha Fathima

I stared at the sky,
In the middle of green field,
All I ever saw and liked was green.
Definition of pretty was droplets on the grass,
And colorful bugs in the way.
But ever since I met sky,

Its blue color and white clouds,
Were prettier than the rain droplets on the grass.
Its flying birds and falling rain,
Were prettier than the colorful bugs in the way.

Were you there the whole time?
When I was conflicting with myself?
Were you looking after me the whole time?
When I was saved from conflicts of myself?

I ran in the grass,
In middle of green field,
All I ever saw and liked was rippling.
Feelings of fresh was green color of the grass,
And handmade harvests on the land.
But ever since I saw sky,

It’s cool wind and fluffy clouds,
Was better than fresh green color of the grass,
It’s natural color and bright sun,
Was better than handmade harvests on the land.

Were you sunny the whole time?
When I was feeling down and upset?
Were you rainy the whole time?
When I was excited and happy?

The color of sea and sky,
Are same as tears when we cry.
happy and sad? Its only blue.
The favorite of mine without any clue.
It’s pretty and light, it’s a sign of
how vast and natural this universe is.

Kids ask,
Why is the sky blue?
Why are the plants green?
Why is the sun yellow?
Why is the night black?
do we answer or look back?

The blue-blue sky,
amazed me with smile.
The No-end-to-it sky,
Wished me to fly.

If sky was person,
he would be my soulmate.
If sky could talk,
he would be my best mate.

Sky is new and divine,
If I could buy it, sky would be mine.
Watch its sun set and sun rise
Fresh was green but blue is clean.
It would be my every day’s scene.

“You couldn’t reach me, I can’t reach you,” said the sky
It’s on my head and reflection in my eyes.
I just wish, sky’s my soulmate.
Hence, yet I stand here.
Even today.
