What makes this traveler unique is his journey itself
In the journey of ours in this colossal world, we meet a minute chunk of people and in that chunk, we hardly remember a few distinctively. These people create a unique impression either for good or bad. I think most of you agree with me as this is the conventional way of thinking. Likewise, here’s a person named ‘Inspiring wanderer’ who made travelling his way of life, the distinctive quality.
As cliche as it sounds, in this generation, where most people, across the world, travel and make vlogs, in fact earn money from that as well. What makes this traveler unique is his journey itself.
The way he interacts, talks, connects with people, and essentially the wisdom he spreads is really intense and surprisingly makes sense.
I had some prejudices that education alone can add value to a person and I often judged people by this notion. However, lately, I came across a few people who proved me wrong. This “inspiring wanderer” belongs to that category.
He’s Vimal Geethanandan, based out of Andhrapradesh, a degree dropout, who started his journey with just a backpack hitchhiking on roads. I happened to interact with him a couple of times, listened to his TED talks, and I do follow him on social media. The way he interacts, talks, connects with people, and essentially the wisdom he spreads is really intense and surprisingly makes sense.
As stated earlier, he started with very limited money, and it has been 5 years so far. He has no fixed home unlike most of us. In fact, he built a home for himself named “Maya”, a moving van, with the help of crowd funding. Is it for real? Yes, indeed! Humanity still exists.
He does volunteering when he doesn’t have money and to survive at a place; there he gets kaana, pina, some free wifi, and of course interesting conversations.
Vimal says, during his journey, I have never met an unpleasant person on the road, never slept with an empty stomach. When he wants money, he does freelance content writing. What makes me amused is a dropout guy like him is being believed, encouraged, and loved for his works. This says a lot about how conviction and confidence plays a role.
Last but not least to mention, there’s something unique about every person, and Vimal made his imprint as an “inspiring wanderer”. Travelling makes him happy and most importantly he is going with the flow…

This article on the life of Vimal Geethanandan proves for one more time that happiness doesn’t lie in material possessions but in voluntay simplicity. We lead our lives in self created prisons called homes ,and we cannot survive even for an hour outside our home without money in the pocket..
